This is a copy of the email I sent to our family and friends:
Yesterday, Eva had a fever so I took her to the dr. While I was there, she had a febrile seizure (which means it was related to her fever). I thought that was the scariest thing that could possibly happen to a parent.
Our doctor really wanted her to have a head ct just to be sure that there was no damage and to make sure it was a febrile tumor.
Off we went to Medical City hospital to the er. While we were there, the dr asked about other issues Eva might be having. I mentioned a cough so she ordered an xray. The head ct came back normal but they saw something they did not like on the chest xray. So, they did a chest ct.
They found a mass as large as her lungs behind her heart close to her spine. They admitted her immediately. We are still unsure exactly what it is.
After meeting with the Pediatric Oncologist this AM, they are going to do a full scan to make sure whatever it is has not spread anywhere else.
Once we get that news, then, we move on to surgery which will be either tomorrow or Monday. From there, and based on path reports, we know what our options are. Please, please, please keep Eva, Jack and the rest of our family in your prayers.
We will have a clearer picture in the next 24 hours as to what our options are with her. I will also be posting things on my blog.
Please keep her in your prayers,
Kristi

Love to you and your family, and expecially Eva.
Post recent picture if you're up for it.
Kristi,
I will definitely keep your family in my prayers. If I can do anything let me know.
Love,
Kimberly
